Translate and free distribute the digital version of the book "O que é o Forró?"
Publish the English translation of the book "O que é o Forró" – Um apanhado da História do forró (What is Forró - An overview of the history of forró) by Dias and Dupan (2022). This book is a starting point for those who are new to the universe of Forró and a deeper dive for those who are already close to it. Edit and release the digital book in English on different platforms with free and permanent access. Disseminate the Culture and History of Forró, especially from the 1940s onwards, not only in Europe but anywhere and to anyone who reads English, expanding the knowledge of lay people and professionals involved with this Art. Proofreading the translated version Formatting the final manuscript to suit digital platforms (e-book format); Publication of the book in digital format. Costs: Translation: 700 euros Formatting to E-book: 150 euros Total cost: 850 euros

over 1 year agoUnfortunately, more than half of the Forrozeir@s in FdC area (North Rhine Westfalia, Essen - Düsseldorf - Köln - Aachen - Bonn) don't speak portuguese. Forró is more than just steps and this would help to contribute to getting this knowledge to Forrozeir@s! Also for teachers who don't speak portuguese (yet ;) ) to include this in their classes to get the cultural aspect of Forró across.

over 1 year agoI have seen the exposition of that book at the Den Haag festival and I think it's a real good base to make visible the cultural aspects of forró. With that base, it is easier to find sponsors or partners (as the Brazilian Embassy in The Hague @brazilembassynl , Institute Guimarães Rosa).
