📊SURVEY to get qualitative (and as far as doable also quantitative) data about Forró in Europe
🤌SUMMARY: *A survey to better understand the Forró situation around Europe How are the communities and professionals doing? Where is support needed? What kind of support is needed?* /// 🗯️DETAILED IDEA: *WHAT is the objective?* Understand the situation of Forró in Europe and what needs to happen to improve and grow. *HOW would it look like?* - a survey sent out to people who have central roles in their local Forró community - questions about size (estimated) and situation in the community - If we get enough valid feedback, the data & findings could be added to the locations in the Forró Map (https://forrofederation.com/map/) -> for visitors of the map to get a better understanding on context & size of each community (with the timestamp of 2023/24) - If we get clear impressions in which topics support is needed, we could start initiative(s) to support. /// ℹ️*SPECIAL NOTES* If this idea gets upvoted, we would still need to find volunteers to realize the survey (creating, sending, reaching out to missing responses) as well as to realize the possible initiatives to offer support for identified challenges. We already have a good structure of Region Ambassadors in the FoFed Enlarged Board (see: https://forrofederation.com/about-the-federation/t…) who can support to reach out to communities. If you would like to make this happen, contact us! :) forrofederation@gmail.com

over 1 year agoGreat idea! Maybe communities with similar challenges can also get in touch this way.

over 1 year agois there a plan to use what has been done in the past? There were several motivated people involved, maybe you can reach out to them in order not to start from scratch?
Forró Federation
over 1 year ago@Leonie Schmidtmer Exactly, in case we see there is demand and we decide that it should become a focus to revive this initiative, we would reach out to see if those people would still be motivated to work on it. We mainly want to avoid doing a survey with "any" questions that come up to our mind, but not knowing for which purpose we would want to use the results then. So hoping to get more input here in the comments from the Forró community about concrete use cases for survey results.

over 1 year agoThe federation could survey one city/community (with all its organisors, teachers, musicians) each month, to find out what their challenges are and provide help in the form of blog posts written by experienced Forro organisers, teacher, musicians that explain how to overcome exactly these challenges. Of cause in the beginning it will go slower as these blog posts first need to be written. Also there also could be a request support email address that, so everyone can request support of the does not find the blog post he needs yet.

over 1 year agoI still support this idea and hope to contribute, because I think this helps to understand Forró in Europe better in order to know where European Forró is going and needs for that.
